NIGELLA (Nigella sativa) — Nigella, commonly called black cumin, has a rich history throughout the Mediterranean region, northern Africa, and parts of Europe and Asia. Used in a number of unique regional dishes, this plant has also been used medicinally for thousands of years. This particular variety is made up of four different varieties, some wild and some cultivated. The varieties originated in Hisban, Jordan; Odesa, Ukraine; Arraba, Jordan; and Ethiopia.
